A new page,
Her shrewd gaze
Put me in a cage,
Drew out all my rage.
Could I stage
One last performance?
The romance gone
Common sense prevails.
“You sail with the wind”
The toothless boatman said,
The oar in his hand.
His bland
Entreaties
Did not command
So who is exposed?
Only me I suppose;
So I stood naked,
Pictures and mirrors
Tell lies.
Rake them over
Behind the disguise
There is a real man.
